Frequently asked questions.

Helpful answers about SMSF market-value reporting, documentation, quotation requests and engaging our team.

Can I contact you before I know which SMSF valuation report I need?

Yes. Tell us what your accountant or auditor has requested, or describe the fund event or transaction. We can discuss the valuation scope and the information needed for an accurate quotation.

Does an SMSF require a new independent valuation every year?

SMSF assets are reported at market value annually, but an independent professional valuation report is not automatically required every year for every property. Trustees need objective and supportable evidence appropriate to the asset and circumstances; seek advice from your accountant or SMSF auditor.

Can you help with a retrospective valuation date?

You can request a valuation at a historical date. Please include the relevant date, the property address and the purpose of the assessment so the scope can be considered.

How much does an SMSF property valuation cost?

Fees depend on the property, its complexity, location, the valuation date and the reporting requirements. Contact us with the details for a tailored quotation.

Can my SMSF accountant or auditor be involved?

Yes. You can explain what your advisers need and share relevant reporting requirements. A valuation report provides evidence for consideration; the SMSF auditor remains responsible for their independent audit decisions.

Need a formal valuation quotation?

For SMSF-held residential, commercial or industrial property, share the property details and the date you need valued.
