Frequently asked questions

Answers before you request a quote.

Common questions about SMSF valuation fees, annual reporting, effective dates and supporting evidence.

Does an SMSF property need an independent valuation every year?

SMSF assets generally must be reported at market value each year. A new independent professional valuation is not automatically required every year in every circumstance; trustees must have appropriate objective evidence, and their auditor assesses its suitability.

What affects the cost of an SMSF property valuation?

The fee can depend on the property type, complexity, location, required valuation date, reporting purpose and supporting information available. Your quotation will reflect the proposed scope of work.

Can you provide a valuation at a historical date?

Retrospective valuations may be available where a market value is needed as at a past date. Include the relevant date and the reason for the report so the scope can be reviewed.

Can our accountant or SMSF auditor help define the report requirements?

Yes. You can include the requirements supplied by your accountant or auditor in the enquiry. The valuation remains independent, and the adviser or auditor makes their own professional assessment.

Does submitting the form confirm the quoted price or booking?

No. It begins a quotation enquiry. We will review your request and advise the proposed fee, scope and next steps before work proceeds.
